In modern refrigeration and climate control engineering, the system's longevity hinges on thermodynamic purity. Moisture, non-condensables, and mechanical debris pose continuous threats to modern hermetic and semi-hermetic compressors. As the industry transitions rapidly from legacy hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) to low-GWP hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs) and natural refrigerants (like R290, R600a, and R744/CO2), the molecular dynamics of contamination control have grown increasingly complex.
When trace moisture enters a refrigeration loop, it reacts with synthetic Polyolester (POE) and Polyvinyl Ether (PVE) lubricants. Under high discharge temperatures, this leads to hydrolysis, generating corrosive hydrofluoric and organic carboxylic acids. These acids attack motor windings, degrade insulation, and accelerate copper plating on valve plates. Taojun's 3A molecular sieve filter driers actively scrub moisture down to less than 10 ppm, completely halting acid propagation.
Microscopic weld slag, metallic shavings, and dust particles act as abrasive agents inside the compressor cylinder walls and bearing surfaces. Taojun's multi-layered fiber mesh structures, combined with a high-strength solid desiccant core, capture particulates down to 25 microns. This ensures that expansion valves, capillary tubes, and variable-frequency compressors remain completely unobstructed.
New environmental mandates under the Kigali Amendment force transitions to next-generation refrigerants. These refrigerants exhibit unique chemical interactions with structural metals and desiccants. Standard molecular sieves designed for R22 are highly incompatible with modern POE/HFO matrices. Taojun’s proprietary desiccant blend utilizes an optimized pore-size distribution that selectively targets H2O molecules without capturing the larger refrigerant molecules, preserving thermodynamic performance and preventing system chemical imbalance.

Strict Defect Rate Target
Taojun copper filter driers are designed to absorb moisture and acid, and to filter out impurities. Typically installed as standard inline components or replacement repair parts for residential and commercial refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners, these driers utilize state-of-the-art chemical filtration technology.
Every Taojun filter drier is fabricated from high-purity copper tubing. This provides excellent corrosion resistance, high structural flexibility under thermal cycling, and outstanding pressure holding capability. Designed to comfortably withstand R410A and CO2 operating pressures, our outer casings undergo intensive hydrostatic testing.
Unlike low-grade driers that use generic silica gel, Taojun incorporates high-efficiency 3A Molecular Sieves. With a water absorption capacity ≥20%, these sieves exhibit highly selective adsorption. The 3Å pore configuration selectively binds water molecules while completely excluding larger refrigerant molecules like HFC-134a or HFO-1234yf, preventing desiccant degradation and oil breakdown.
To prevent environmental refrigerant leaks, Taojun utilizes robotic argon arc welding for component seals. This creates clean, oxidation-free hermetic bonds. Each filter drier is pressurized with dry nitrogen during sealing to prevent internal oxidation, maintaining a clean interior prior to site installation.
Our core production lines are imported directly from Germany, providing micron-level precision during copper extrusion, cleaning, and molecular sieve insertion.
We maintain an engineering R&D center staffed by 15 specialist engineers, including doctors and professors from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).
Custom dimensions, specialized connections (solder or flare), and customized desiccant formulations are available to fit any refrigerator, freezer, or AC line configuration.
We import our ITO films (no shrinkage, zero color difference) and liquid crystal spacers from Japan. Our industrial adhesives are sourced from Europe, designed for high-temperature stability (80-90°C).
Every product batch undergoes 500-hour environmental chambers (-35°C to 75°C), 30-minute thermal shock tests (10°C to 90°C), and 100V high-voltage insulation tests for zero structural breakdowns.
With an adaptable MES system, we accommodate flexible production runs, low MOQs, and global logistics support to optimize client inventory levels.

Detailed Scope of Certification
As refrigeration technology advances towards natural refrigerants and higher efficiency, Taojun is aligning its engineering roadmap with next-generation cooling systems:
Our R&D team is developing smart filter driers with integrated moisture color indicators and differential pressure sensor ports. This allows real-time monitoring of desiccant saturation and pressure drop, enabling predictive maintenance before system damage occurs.
With the growth of subcritical and transcritical CO2 systems, operating pressures often exceed 120 bar. We are engineering ultra-high-pressure steel and copper-iron alloy filter shells with optimized wall thicknesses to ensure reliable performance under extreme pressures.
We are working to eliminate all lead-bearing joining compounds from our processes and are transitioning our factories to carbon-neutral production, utilizing recycled copper and fully recyclable packaging.
A: The molecular diameter of water is approximately 2.6 Å, whereas modern refrigerants like R134a, R32, and R1234yf have molecular diameters larger than 3.0 Å. A 3A molecular sieve has a pore opening of approximately 3 Å. This structure selectively adsorbs water molecules while preventing the larger refrigerant molecules from entering the pore structure. This avoids co-adsorption, preserving desiccant capacity and preventing chemical breakdown of the refrigerant.
A: Synthetic lubricants, particularly Polyolester (POE) oils, are highly hygroscopic (moisture-absorbing). In the presence of trace water, POE undergoes hydrolysis, producing organic acids. These acids degrade the motor windings in hermetic compressors and lead to copper plating. Taojun driers reduce moisture to less than 10 ppm, preventing the hydrolysis of POE oil and protecting the compressor from acid-related failures.
A: Robotic argon arc welding creates high-strength, oxidation-free hermetic bonds. Unlike traditional brazing, it does not introduce copper oxide scaling inside the tube. This prevents loose scaling from migrating through the refrigerant loop and clogging the expansion valve or capillary tubes.
A: We use high-purity, thick-walled copper tubing and subject all production runs to burst pressure and hydrostatic testing. Our robotic welding processes are carefully monitored to ensure structural integrity, allowing our driers to operate reliably at pressures up to 600 PSI (41.5 bar).
A: Yes. As an ISO 9001-certified OEM/ODM partner, we provide complete customization for connection types (solder, flare, or thread), outer shell diameters, lengths, and integrated bracket mounts.
